Painting of the Week – Palm Tree Study
Warming Up
Palm Trees are planted mostly as a decorative item and come in many varieties. Their tall height breaks up the landscape as they loom above the horizon. I adjusted my camera until the trees overlapped in an attractive way.
Taking 5 minutes to paint the photo on a scrap of watercolor paper, warming up, just for yourself, can reveal amazing information. All of the pressure is removed as you are doing this just for you. Don’t draw it out, just slow down and concentrate. A study helps me paint better all day.
Sincerely,
