Painting of the Week

Painting of the Week – Private Reserve

Shadowed Pathways

Shadowed Pathways

Hidden below the hill in the shadows was this vineyard possibly for someone’s Private Reserve. A tour guide told us there are so many wineries in Italy the government actually restricts production to keep the prices higher. I wish I knew more about this one story. It takes 2- 7 years of growth before grape vines begin producing grapes. The buildings modest appearance and the growth of the vines suggest some longevity. Perhaps it really was hidden on purpose.

I find pathways fascinating, particularly a dirt driveway with grass growing in the middle like this one and enjoyed putting the effort into it. This one was particularly fun because of the added perspective of it going down a hill. Patience was required to place the many layered and angled brushstrokes.

Sincerely,
