A garden is such a wonderful thing to explore. Beauty can instantly take your mind off yourself – like a breath of fresh air. For little children full of wonder, it’s extra special. This commissioned painting will remind viewers of those moments of Innocence in Bloom.

Have you ever had someone hold a dandelion under your chin, and say “You like butter?”. That is what reflected light is. The light bounces off the top of the flower and goes on the underside of the chin. This is a very fun aspect of color to paint. In this piece, you can see the brick wall reflects some of the light from the lattice. And the lattice reflects some of the color on the pathway. The pathway is much lighter than the brick walls as the light is hitting directly onto the ground.
