Painting of the Week – Bliss
Time to Think
By Memorial Day, most gardeners in the Midwest hope to have everything planted. “Bliss” (sorry, not available for purchase) tells the story of how this gardener put energy into the big pots, growing beautifully, but never got back to fill the little pots. Little pots are great when you have a few plants left over. Most of us don’t leave the empty pots we don’t plant out, but perhaps we can all relate to that feeling of exhaustion. Deciding you are done is blissful, and with a little care, those flowers will fulfill their responsibility of adding beauty.
This painting was perfect for today’s blog as it blissfully gave me more time to finish a piece. It is so nice to enjoy getting it right. That painting will be done in time for my show in Wahpeton. If you want first dibs on work at the ‘Summer Travels’ show at the Red Door Art Gallery, it opens on June 4th.
