Reworking a Piece
After an early snowfall, colorful leaves are often still on the trees and the snow remains only in the shady spots. Fall lasts much longer in California. Paul and I drove by “Late Fall” on our way to California last December. The shadows from the evergreens on the white house and the orange willows created a unique color palette.
Sometimes you like an idea and try to pull it together, but later you clearly see a problem and solution. I had placed these buildings where I wanted them but somehow elongated them making it difficult to prioritize shapes as planned. I simply reworked the piece, shortened the buildings and had room for everything I wanted in there. Time heals, I wish I had seen that right away.
Sincerely,
