Painting of the Week – Glimmering Light

Reflecting Colors

Reflecting Colors

The fall colors are upon us and it is so beautiful. I hope you get to go for a nice drive and see the
changing of the colors. Fall flowers can be pretty exciting too.

Glimmering Light has an unusual fall palette for me. Yellow and Violet are dominant versus the much loved Reds, Oranges, Browns & Greens. White is the most reflective color and on this white house, the shadow side reflects many different colors. The simple wall on the right side of the house fascinated me. If you zoom in, you can see it is all kinds of colors. They reflect on each other often bringing out the complimentary color. Notice on the large wall where there is an Orange leaf, it looks more Blue, and where there is a yellow leaf, it looks more Violet.
