Painting of the Week – Clusters

Warm & Cool

Warm & Cool

The blizzard in Fargo has me thinking of you. Stranded on a road, being without heat or fixing something outdoors is terrible. On the other hand, kids love school closings—at least before there were zoom classes. If you are stocked up on groceries and in your cozy house with family, sitting down by a fire with a good book or movie is downright fun.

The indoor/outdoor reference seems to fit this painting. It works as the warm reds, yellows and yellow greens are clustered together surrounded by the cooler bluish green areas on the outside edges. The flowers pop up into the sunlight, highlighting their shape. “Clusters” was fun and very loosely painted.

Stay warm!

Sincerely,
