Painting of the Week

Painting of the Week – Golf Strokes

Decisions on Details

Decisions on Details

This painting, Golf Strokes, gives one an idea why golf is so expensive. This driving range alone is a huge & beautiful classroom. The sound of the club hitting the ball will tell you how good the golfers are next to you. Good practice helps your game. The Gary Player Mission Hills North Course in Rancho Mirage, CA has the very steep 10,804’ Mt. San Jacinto, pictured here, to aim at.

It was fun painting the figures practicing. In golf, the stance is very important. With the grass is mowed, the feet become significant. I diminished the high contrast of the shoes slightly as that isn’t where I want to look.  You can also suggest details simply by displaying them with the right shape and direction.

Sincerely,
