Painting of the Week

Painting of the Week – Harbor Patrol

Musical Notes

Musical Notes

Memorial Weekend is on its way. The holiday not only celebrates respect for those who have served, it also signals the beginning of  summer vacation and  water fun for many of us. Even if you are stuck inside because of rain this weekend, it is exciting to know summer is ahead. Boats and people seem to find each other!

Likewise, this painting “Harbor Patrol” reminds me of the sounds of chugging  boats, waves, water splashing and activity that is musical to me. The overlapping shapes and proportions, repeat and unite both contrasting and related colors. The rhythm of music can be transferred and is so helpful to the visual arts!

Sincerely,
