Revisiting a Subject 

I have been finishing paintings to show you this weekend. Some were started in my workshops like “Florescence”. This dramatic floral was a puzzle. It has such sharp contrast; it took me three years to figure out what to do to make it work.

What made it work was graying down some colors with gouache (an opaque watermedia) or adding white to some colors to create unique darks. This added some beautiful enhancements to the patterns in the leaves. Please come and see this piece and many more at the:
