Painting of the Week – Cozy Christmas

Projecting Warmth

Projecting Warmth

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house,

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse…

No mouse would even twitch, with this great big cat on the couch!

This is my former cat “Ole” who starred in Where’s  Petunia?, one of my gold medal award winning Children’s books. Would you enjoy reading Samson’s Gift to a child this Christmas?

In Cozy Christmas, two main factors are projecting warmth in this scene: the warm dominant palette and the connected curvilinear lines. If you notice, no line is perfectly straight in this painting which relaxes the eye.

Sincerely,
