Simplification
This is part of the background of a very complicated painting commissioned for The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Moorhead, Minnesota. At church there is usually one musical event at a time, unless it’s a mass choir. For example, our church annually has all the choirs join to sing the Hallelujah Chorus. The music provides so much joy and a great atmosphere of a church service that involves many members.
The whole painting (not shown) is like a wide angle lens view. It requires simplification, gestural movements and diversity to display a sense of participation. I love how this part gives you just enough information for the band and connects to the background.
Sincerely,
