Lettering
During the holiday season, I hope you get several quiet opportunities to sit by yourself to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in the sunshine while you gather your thoughts. Only a few beautiful plants or objects d’art could add to the ambiance. This truly is therapy in my book.
The word Espresso adds a lot to this painting. The colors chosen and background reinforce the message of the lettering with their steamy reflections. In Morning Sunshine, you know immediately you are near a coffee shop. Lettering in a painting doesn’t need to dominate or be perfect. See how the letters in Espresso are only a couple of shades lighter than the reflective windows in this piece. Suddenly, we are enjoying more than the sunflowers.
