The Journey a Painting Takes
Painting fascinates me. Between what I know and don’t know, there are so many facets, tangents and ways to discover. Every stroke is an opportunity towards success or failure. This Watercolor “Scandinavian Visit” began in my beginning Watercolor workshop as a demonstration, continued on through our RRWS workshop and was finished last week at my lake studio. It is simple but complex, offering so many directions to explore. Personally, it was exciting to paint with beginners two weeks ago and it was also fun to be a student again with so many experienced painters from the Red River Watercolor Societies’ workshop last week taught by Ken Call, a master artist. All of this affected this painting as it traveled through time in its creation – it’s so interesting to see the journey a painting takes!
See me and “Scandinavian Visit” in person at the Forest Edge Gallery, near Vergas, Minnesota, where I have many beautiful paintings and. specials this Friday for their version of “Looney Days” this Friday, August 7th, 11:00-4:00. I hope to see you there!
