Getting Over Painter’s Block.
Hello Everyone,
Sometimes we get stuck painting because we are trying too hard. The best way to get out of this is by painting something without making it the goal to create a complete painting. This can serve as a warm up too.
I set these two artichokes up to paint. I only did the base layer and didn’t worry about composition. This might take 5 -10 minutes. The key is to go slow and look for the colors, mix them and set them next to each other. By slowing down, concentrating on the color and ignoring any fears “as this doesn’t have to be a finished painting” will help you get in the right groove to paint. You can also use a partial of something you are painting to warm up on that subject.
