This painting is from a view from the hill Paul and I walked around each day on a visit to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho years ago. The sun was just rising in the distance lighting up the flowers against the distant Blue Mountains. Recent weather reminds me how quickly the seasons change. In this watercolor, you see the cool blues meet the warm gold’s. The colors are dramatic and beautiful. Color compliments are directly across the color wheel (orange and blue) (yellow and violet) and (red & green). Complimentary colors bring each other out when side by side and tone each other down when mixed. I have been focusing on them lately in my paintings and look forward to working with them more in my planned paintings.
