Painting Flowers
Is there anything that says spring more that Tulips, Jonquils, Crocus, Hyacinths & Daffodils? When those colorful flowers pop up out of the ground, everything changes. For my local friends, it won’t be long now. I remember picking fresh flowers and flooding a paper towel with water and wrapping foil around them to bring to my elementary school teacher. The smiles received were not forgotten.
At the garden shop, they recommended that I plant my bulbs in a clump. By doing so, the flowers create a spherical shape of color which is very attractive. Likewise, Spring Update was simplified by painting the clumps of flowers into sphere-like shapes. Keeping the tops lighter, like the sun hitting a sphere, they display a fresh fullness that was later defined with greens.
Spring Update is available as a Giclée and notecards.
Sincerely,
