Painting of the Week

Painting of the Week – Late Fall

Temperature

Temperature

Have you ever gone into your car when it’s sunny but chilly outside, yet the glass house effect has warmed up the inside? It can be so cozy and therapeutic you just want to sit there. Before I was an empty nester, I liked to drive my car to a sunny spot just to be all by myself to think without any interruptions and usually ended up taking a nap. It is amazing how different it feels standing in the sun versus the shadow. The spring days coming up are a prime-time for such an activity.

In Late Fall, you see dramatic cool shadows striking against areas in the sun. It brings across the feeling of two different temperatures at the same time. This may work because of the strength of the actual value (lightness or darkness of a color) of the cool shadows which are Blue-Violet against the complimentary colored Yellow- Green Willow tree.

This painting is also at our Three Women – A Watermedia Exhibit until April 3rd, 2022.

Please check out my upcoming events!

Sincerely,
