Fargo Scene – Painting of the Week

Historic Documentation

Historic Documentation

It was exciting to create this commissioned painting for the boardroom of the newly remodeled Eide Bailly LLP office. The Fargo Scene, larger than myself, was moved from California, to my Fargo Studio, to the lake and back, and finally to its new home. The tall building in the center, now the Fargo Bell Tower, formerly housed their business and has been an attractive backdrop for many of my Fargo paintings. This acrylic painting was painted on top of a grid using the color palette chosen by designer Kim Manuel. It’s amazing what you can learn about Fargo and its’ people while reminiscing about a local city-scape.

Change is constant. Even some of the exteriors of the buildings changed before the piece was completed. This makes your piece a historical documentation, but it is exciting to capture a moment in time.

Sincerely,
