Melody has a classic vertical S curve composition. In other words the flower shapes are separated and overlapped in an “s” shape throughout the picture plane.
Sometimes my interest was in the shape created by two flowers connected. Others led you directly into the center of the flowers where the most contrast occurred. I particularly liked the bottom most flowers and how the shadows connected to the background. There is an under-painting as a background done in a playful way before I added the greens.
The green shapes around the flowers were placed letting the under-painting work through it as kind of a woven design.
