This painting projects romance and mystery. Who boats are those? What are they talking about. Are they in the Gazebo?
Boating around Pelican Lake in Minnesota, I have taken several pictures of this gazebo over the years. Then last summer I spotted two Adirondack chairs on top of a cliff overlooking the lake. What a fun place that must be to sit and visit. Visualizing myself in those chairs, several ideas generated sketches. First I considered a diptyci one with a gazebo and the other with two chairs. Then I thought about how two people could get there and started working in the 2 boats. Finally I chose to make it one long vertical painting with the chairs, the gazebo and the boats. It spikes one’s imagination!
This original acrylic giclee on canvas is unframed as the sides are printed also.
