The Twinkling Palms – Painting of the Week
Arranged Lighting
With this cold spell, it sure is nice to be back in the Desert. The sun sets early here and the palms with lights circling their trunks are so elegantly festive. I love how the neighbors down the street lit up their yard. In The Twinkling Palms, tiny delicate little stars sparkle through the wash of the sky. They really stand out as gold against the blue mountains.
Light is so amazing, it changes everything as it changes itself. In this case, man-made lights sparkle as they silhouette the trunks of the palms. They also create night shadows that are quite warm. The light bulbs on the palms are clear, but the light reflects onto the brown irregular trunks creating a glowing yellow.
Sincerely,
