Columns of the Canyon

I raced out early this morning to join the Plein Air Painters. We met at the Coachella Valley Preserve. Like Columns in the Canyon, the large bearded Palms were covered with Dates, left only a sliver of a view of the sunlit mountain. I love the sole Palm directly ahead of me.  It was cool when I started but soon, I was shedding a few layers.

This lovely original is painted on 300 lb. rag watercolor paper – perfect for floating.
