Behind the piece: This young bull reminds me of Fargo’s Bison NDSU Championship football team– victorious again for Homecoming. My telescopic lens enabled me to get detailed photos of his herd on the side of the bluff. It was so beautiful in Medora. This beautiful Bison Bull stood up when I walked too close to take his picture. I slowly returned to my car and he sat down again. He had a small herd with him happily resting in the sun. I started this painting in Medora as part of my Artists Residency through The Capital Gallery West – a new seasonal gallery in Medora, ND.
