Tethered is a Giclée Reproduction in Watercolor by Ellen Jean Diederich featuring saddled horses in Big Sky Montana on rag paper.
Behind the piece: I photographed these horses waiting for riders while waiting to join a trail ride. It was a fun afternoon with my daughters. The painting employed spattering and mixing colors on the palette, paint removal techniques, and many hours were put into it’s completion. This painting is based on a trip I took to Big Sky Montana. My daughters and I went on a trail ride together. They had a large selection of horses all saddled up for you to choose from. I asked for an easy going horse. It made for a fun afternoon.
The Original Painting was on exhibit at the American Watercolor Society International Juried Exhibition in 2021 and their 2022 Traveling Exhibition.
