This video workshop is for kids, by artist and author Ellen Jean Diederich, is a watercolor painting lesson. In this lesson students learn about drawing and painting with watercolor. Ages 7-14 Log on and repeat as often as you like!
In the art of watercolor painting it is necessary to allow drying time before adding details. Students will draw and paint the wool of Samson the sheep (the main character in “Samson’s Gift”). While the wool dries, Ellen reads her story to the students. Then they finish by adding the eyes and nose and background.
A signed copy of “Samson’s Gift” and a piece of watercolor paper will be mailed to each student with a gift code. Under “workshops” they can log in and register the code at www.givinity.com. Please list the child(s) name under notes when registering.
See the video showing the sign up process.

Reference about children’s class from the Fargo Public Library, Fargo, ND
The Fargo Public Library had the pleasure of displaying Ms. Diederich’s Samson artwork in our outer lobby. We also held two portrait painting classes for children ages 7 and up to learn about water color and create a portrait of their own. Both classes were very well attended and the children had a great time expressing their inner artist! Cindy Liudahl | Fargo Public Library | Children’s Program Assistant
