Cayman Kai is an original watercolor painting by Ellen Jean Diederich 

Behind the piece: I painted this darling Gingerbread bungalow on Grand Cayman while I was on vacation. This type of architecture was designed to be practical as the roof top would collect water from the rain. The carved trim and colored fence add a lot of fun. I have been wanting to paint one for years but would never feel like it when I got home. So, this time, I drew it out and painted on it while I was there and finished it back home.
