This sparkling watercolor was a surprise to me. First I used these flowers to teach how to vary the way you dealt with a subject. Then I started the painting and worked on it last summer. It didn’t make the grade. So much so I pulled it out of my closet to experiment a color on it. After applying the test to the original I was working on I came back and saw it was beautiful. Such an amazing surprise. I apparently was missing the key variation which the experiment applied.
This paintings is framed in a double white rag mat with the bottom an 8-ply mat board with a modern black frame.
