Many people admire Ellen Diederich’s use of color. In this video Ellen shares why certain colors are more beautiful together and will an infinite number of beautiful possibilities. There are basic warm up skills that use color mixing techniques that help build watercolor skills at the same time. You will practice choosing colors to enhance your paintings or support a concept.
Color design helps creates mood. The goal of this workshop is to provide you with the skills needed for wise color choices. Ellen will share many of her favorite pigment combinations. In this video both a warm and a coold dominant painting will be created. Any level painter can take this class as it also incorporates basic watercolor skill exercises.
Use your own photographs and sketches to paint from or download Ellen’s to paint along. Have some warm (like the sun) red, yellow and orange dominant and some cool (like the sea) blues, violets and greens dominant. Draw out subjects you want to paint and experiment on.
