Driving towards our destination for a meeting in Maine, I spotted this beautiful Bed & Breakfast. Paul slowed down for me while I snapped pictures with my telephoto lens. This working draft will help with the nearly finished acrylic painting. My students traced my drawing then we painted two pictures of the building with light from the left and then light from the right.
It was a fun challenge and my students got into it. The class painted the first study matching the photo, with the light on the left. and on the second study we reversed the shadows. Going back and forth between the signs and the With watercolor it was timely to move from one to another as the paint dried.
