Tues-Thurs 9:30 am -4:00 PM and 9:30 – 12:00 Friday

This class is designed to broaden your skills using acrylic paint and strengthen your sense of design. Registration is limited to 8 students. There will be a large television screen so you see demonstrations clearly and practice social distancing during the workshop.
Day 1 Using your materials. Warm up by creating two under-paintings: 1 geometric & 1 organic. Follow along and compose a painting in color on backer board.
Day 2 Warm up practicing specific brushwork & subtle blending techniques. Paint around a shape and add darks and lights exposing some of the under-painting. Compose your sketch for painting of your choice using two modified primary colors. Homework: purchase proportional canvas for sketch.
Day 3-4 Warm up creating an under-painting with 2 modified colors. Sketch with wash pencils and create planned painting. Photographs will be provided if you want to work on same painting as instructor.

You will watch demonstrations, practice techniques, make shapes and create your own painting. Paint from the photographs provided, and/or bring your own. A welcome letter will be sent to you two weeks prior with more details. Ellen can help you with supplies, just ask. I look forward to working with you! This workshop is at J’s Catering. Response to COVID-19 Pandemic:
My number one priority is the safety of the staff and all workshop attendees. Due to our current situation we will be following the CDCs recommended guidelines and implementing a plan to keep everyone safe and healthy. To ensure enjoyable and successful workshop I have created a list of procedures all workshop participants are required to follow.
All workshop attendees must:
- Wear a mask at all times during the workshop.
- Maintain social distancing at 6 feet apart.
- Wash hands regularly, after eating, or touching your face.
- A maximum of 8 attendees are being allowed to participate.
- If you’re feeling ill you are not to attend the workshop.
- Refunds are available for anyone unable to attend due to illness.
- To reserve your spot in the work shop put $75 down.
